Searching for proto-brown dwarfs: Extending near IR spectroscopy of protostars below the hydrogen burning limit
Kevin R. Covey, Thomas P. Greene, Greg W. Doppmann +2
Recent observations of nearby star forming regions have offered evidence that young brown dwarfs undergo a period of mass accretion analogous to the T Tauri phase observed in young…
The Radial Velocity Distribution of Class I and Flat-Spectrum Protostars
Kevin R. Covey, Thomas P. Greene, Greg W. Doppmann +1
We analyze radial velocities for a sample of 31 Class I and flat spectrum protostars in Taurus-Auriga, rho Ophiuchi and Serpens for evidence of the global dynamical state of extrem…
The Physical Natures of Class I and Flat-Spectrum Protostellar Photospheres: A Near-Infrared Spectroscopic Study
G. W. Doppmann, T. P. Greene, K. R. Covey +1
We present high resolution (R = 18,000), high signal-to-noise, 2 micron spectra of 52 infrared-selected Class I and flat-spectrum young stellar objects in the Taurus-Auriga, Op…
The Angular Momentum Content and Evolution of Class I and Flat-Spectrum Protostars
Kevin R. Covey, Thomas P. Greene, Greg W. Doppmann +1
We report on the angular momentum content of heavily embedded protostars based on our analysis of the projected rotation velocities (v sin i s) of 38 Class I/flat spectrum young st…
