Duncan A. Forbes, Pavel Kroupa, Manuel Metz +1
Our Milky Way galaxy is host to a number of companions. These companions are gravitationally bound to the Milky Way and are stellar systems in their own right. They include a popul…
Did the Milky Way dwarf satellites enter the halo as a group?
Manuel Metz, Pavel Kroupa, Christian Theis +2
The dwarf satellite galaxies in the Local Group are generally considered to be hosted in dark matter subhalos that survived the disruptive processes during infall onto their host h…
Galactic Dynamics and Local Dark Matter
Steven R. Majewski, James Bullock, Andreas Burkert +13
The concordance Lambda Cold Dark Matter (Lambda-CDM) model for the formation of structure in the Universe, while remarkably successful at describing observations of structure on la…
Discs of Satellites: the new dwarf spheroidals
Manuel Metz, Pavel Kroupa, Helmut Jerjen
The spatial distributions of the most recently discovered ultra faint dwarf satellites around the Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy are compared to the previously reported discs-o…
