From flag complexes to banner complexes
Steven Klee, Isabella Novik
A notion of an -banner simplicial complex is introduced. For various values of , these complexes interpolate between the class of flag complexes and the class of all simplici…
The combinatorics of hyperbolized manifolds
Allan L. Edmonds, Steven Klee
A topological version of a longstanding conjecture of H. Hopf, originally proposed by W. Thurston, states that the sign of the Euler characteristic of a closed aspherical manifold…
Obstructions to weak decomposability for simplicial polytopes
Nicolai Hähnle, Steven Klee, Vincent Pilaud
Provan and Billera introduced notions of (weak) decomposability of simplicial complexes as a means of attempting to prove polynomial upper bounds on the diameter of the facet-ridge…
Combinatorial Markov chains on linear extensions
Arvind Ayyer, Steven Klee, Anne Schilling
We consider generalizations of Schuetzenberger's promotion operator on the set L of linear extensions of a finite poset of size n. This gives rise to a strongly connected graph on…
Not all simplicial polytopes are weakly vertex-decomposable
Jesus A. De Loera, Steven Klee
In 1980 Provan and Billera defined the notion of weak -decomposability for pure simplicial complexes. They showed the diameter of a weakly -decomposable simplicial complex $Δ…
