Solar panels as cosmic-ray detectors
Carlo Stella, Michele Palatiello, Pedro Assis +5
Due to fundamental limitations of accelerators, only cosmic rays can give access to centre-of- mass energies more than one order of magnitude above those reached at the LHC. In fac…
Depth of Maximum of Air-Shower Profiles at the Pierre Auger Observatory: Composition Implications
Pierre Auger Collaboration
Using the data taken at the Pierre Auger Observatory between December 2004 and December 2012, we have examined the implications of the distributions of depths of atmospheric shower…
A search for point sources of EeV photons
Pierre Auger Collaboration, A. Aab, P. Abreu +483
Measurements of air showers made using the hybrid technique developed with the fluorescence and surface detectors of the Pierre Auger Observatory allow a sensitive search for point…
Origin of atmospheric aerosols at the Pierre Auger Observatory using studies of air mass trajectories in South America
Pierre Auger Collaboration, Gabriele Curci
The Pierre Auger Observatory is making significant contributions towards understanding the nature and origin of ultra-high energy cosmic rays. One of its main challenges is the mon…
