Development of Fast High-Resolution Muon Drift-Tube Detectors for High Counting Rates
B. Bittner, J. Dubbert, S. Horvat +10
Pressurized drift-tube chambers are efficient detectors for high-precision tracking over large areas. The Monitored Drift-Tube (MDT) chambers of the muon spectrometer of the ATLAS…
Development of Muon Drift-Tube Detectors for High-Luminosity Upgrades of the Large Hadron Collider
B. Bittner, J. Dubbert, O. Kortner +7
The muon detectors of the experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have to cope with unprecedentedly high neutron and gamma ray background rates. In the forward regions of th…
ATLAS monitored drift tube chambers for super-LHC
Albert Engl, Otmar Biebel, Ralf Hertenberger +3
After the high-luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, the ATLAS muon spectrometer is expected to work at 10 times increased background rates of gammas and n…
Temperature Studies for ATLAS MDT BOS Chambers
A. Engl, O. Biebel, R. Hertenberger +5
Data sets with high statistics taken at the cosmic ray facility, equipped with 3 ATLAS BOS MDT chambers, in Garching (Munich) have been used to study temperature and pressure effec…
