HI Galaxy Signatures in the SARAO MeerKAT Galactic Plane Survey -- II. The Local Void and its substructure
Sushma Kurapati, Renée C. Kraan-Korteweg, D. J. Pisano +7
The Local Void is one of the nearest large voids, located at a distance of 23 Mpc. It lies largely behind the Galactic Bulge and is therefore extremely difficult to observe. We use…
HI Galaxy Signatures in the SARAO MeerKAT Galactic Plane Survey I. Probing the richness of the Great Attractor Wall across the inner Zone of Avoidance
Nadia Steyn, Renée C. Kraan-Korteweg, Sambatriniaina H. A. Rajohnson +7
This paper presents the first HI results extracted from the SARAO MeerKAT Galactic Plane Survey (SMGPS) a narrow strip () along the southern Milky Way. The prim…
MIGHTEE-\HI: Possible interactions with the galaxy NGC~895
Brenda Namumba, Javier Román, Jesus Falcon Barroso +29
The transformation and evolution of a galaxy is strongly influenced by interactions with its environment. Neutral hydrogen (\HI) is an excellent way to trace these interactions. He…
FRB 20210405I: a nearby Fast Radio Burst localised to sub-arcsecond precision with MeerKAT
Laura Nicole Driessen, Ewan Barr, David Buckley +19
We present the first sub-arcsecond localised Fast Radio Burst (FRB) detected using MeerKAT. FRB 20210405I was detected in the incoherent beam using the MeerTRAP pipeline on 2021 Ap…
