PANORAMIC: Discovery of an Ultra-Massive Grand-Design Spiral Galaxy at
Mengyuan Xiao, Christina C. Williams, Pascal A. Oesch +26
We report the discovery of an ultra-massive grand-design red spiral galaxy, named Zhúlóng (Torch Dragon), at in the JWST PANORAMIC survey, identi…
Age-dating early quiescent galaxies: high star-formation efficiency, but consistent with direct, higher-redshift observations
Crispin Turner, Sandro Tacchella, Francesco D'Eugenio +9
We present a detailed analysis of JWST/NIRSpec and NIRCam observations of ZF-UDS-7329, a massive, quiescent galaxy at redshift , which has been put forward to challenge cosm…
Accelerated Formation of Ultra-Massive Galaxies in the First Billion Years
Mengyuan Xiao, Pascal Oesch, David Elbaz +35
Recent JWST observations have revealed an unexpected abundance of massive galaxy candidates in the early Universe, extending further in redshift and to lower luminosity than what h…
Star formation efficiency across large-scale galactic environments
Laya Ghodsi, Allison Man, Darko Donevski +4
Environmental effects on the evolution of galaxies have been one of the leading questions in galaxy studies for decades. In this work, we investigate the relationship between the s…
