MERMAID-v1 PET Scanner Prototype: Initial Characterization and First Zebrafish Scans
Steven Seeger, Hong Phuc Vo, Rebecca Kantorek +6
MERMAID-v1 is a prototype PET scanner designed to support biomedical research involving adult zebrafish and similar species. The current experimental setup has been characterized,…
Inclusion of Inter-crystal Scattering in PET: Analytical Models and Dedicated Reconstruction
Jorge Roser, Hong Phuc Vo, Rebecca Kantorek +2
Inter-crystal scattering (ICS) in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is commonly regarded as a degradation effect that might compromise the image spatial resolution. In parallel, t…
Analytical Model of Prompt Gamma Timing for Spatiotemporal Emission Reconstruction in Particle Therapy
Julius Werner, Malte Schmidt, Francesco Pennazio +4
Particle therapy relies on up-to-date knowledge of the stopping power of the patient tissues to deliver the prescribed dose distribution. The stopping power describes the average p…
First experimental test of a coded-mask gamma camera for proton therapy monitoring
Magdalena Kołodziej, Stephan Brons, Mikołaj Dubiel +15
Objective. The objective of the presented study was to evaluate the feasibility of a coded-mask (CM) gamma camera for real-time range verification in proton therapy, addressing the…
