Spatially Resolved AGN Ionization and Star Formation at Cosmic Noon with JWST/JEMS
Sophie Lebowitz, Kevin N. Hainline, Stephanie Juneau +7
At Cosmic Noon (), both star formation and Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) activity peaked, each playing a significant role in ionizing interstellar gas on galaxy-wide s…
JWST NIRCam simulations and observations of AGN ionization cones in cosmic noon galaxies
Sophie Lebowitz, Kevin Hainline, Stéphanie Juneau +5
The extended narrow line region (NLR) of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) provides a valuable laboratory for exploring the relationship between AGN and their host galaxies, often appea…
CO survey of high-z radio galaxies, revisited with ALMA: Jet-cloud Alignments and Synchrotron Brightening by Molecular Gas in the Circumgalactic Environment
Bjorn Emonts, Matthew Lehnert, Sophie Lebowitz +6
Powerful radio sources associated with super-massive black holes are among the most luminous objects in the Universe, and are frequently recognized both as cosmological probes and…
The Dragonfly Galaxy. III. Jet-brightening of a High-redshift Radio Source Caught in a Violent Merger of Disk Galaxies
Sophie Lebowitz, Bjorn Emonts, Donald M. Terndrup +8
The Dragonfly Galaxy (MRC 0152-209), the most infrared-luminous radio galaxy at redshift z~2, is a merger system containing a powerful radio source and large displacements of gas.…
