Dust production in the harsh environment of Sgr A* - MIRI/JWST observation of the O-rich asymptotic giant branch star IRS~3
F. Peißker, M. García Marín, A. Eckart +18
Studies of the interstellar medium (ISM) have frequently revealed signatures of the dust produced in the envelopes of asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars, demonstrating a connectio…
MICONIC: The spatial relationship between star formation and the AGN in Centaurus A revealed by JWST/MIRI
O. C. Jones, M. L. Jones, D. Dicken +21
Centaurus A (Cen A), the nearest active radio galaxy, hosts a warped dust disc formed in a gas-rich merger. We present JWST/MIRI imaging in three filters, F560W, F770W, and F1130W,…
The Rich JWST Spectrum of the Western Nucleus of Arp 220: Shocked Hot Core Chemistry Dominates the Inner Disk
Victorine Buiten, Paul van der Werf, Serena Viti +20
We present full 3-28 JWST MIRI/MRS and NIRSpec/IFU spectra of the western nucleus of Arp 220, the nearest ultraluminous infrared galaxy. This nucleus has long been su…
MICONIC: JWST/MIRI MRS observations of the nuclear and circumnuclear regions of Mrk231
A. Alonso-Herrero, L. Hermosa Muñoz, A. Labiano +22
We present JWST/MIRI MRS spatially resolved m observations of the central ~4-8kpc of the ultraluminous infrared galaxy and broad absorption line quasar Mrk231. These…
