Lessons learned from ongoing coordination between NRAO/GBO and LEO NGSO satellite constellations
Bang D. Nhan, Christopher G. De Pree, Sheldon Wasik +3
With the increased demand for spectrum usage in recent years, particularly with the expansion of NGSO satellite systems for broadband internet and cellular services, radio astronom…
ODS: A self-reporting system for radio telescopes to coexist with adaptive satellite constellations
Bang D. Nhan, Christopher G. De Pree, Anthony Beasley +14
Low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations bring broadband internet and cellular service to the most remote locations on the planet. Unfortunately, many of these locations also…
Anomaly Detection and Radio-frequency Interference Classification with Unsupervised Learning in Narrowband Radio Technosignature Searches
Ben Jacobson-Bell, Steve Croft, Carmen Choza +7
The search for radio technosignatures is an anomaly detection problem: Candidate signals represent needles of interest in the proverbial haystack of radio-frequency interference (R…
The Breakthrough Listen Search for Intelligent Life: Technosignature Search of 97 Nearby Galaxies
Carmen Choza, Daniel Bautista, Steve Croft +18
The Breakthrough Listen search for intelligent life is, to date, the most extensive technosignature search of nearby celestial objects. We present a radio technosignature search of…
