Work distribution for strongly coupled many-body open quantum systems
H. T. M. Nghiem, T. A. Costi, S. Campbell +1
The non-equilibrium quantum thermodynamics of many-body open systems is notoriously rich, especially in the strong-coupling regime where strong system-bath correlations develop and…
Metrological symmetries in singular quantum multi-parameter estimation
George Mihailescu, Saubhik Sarkar, Abolfazl Bayat +2
The theoretical foundation of quantum sensing is rooted in the Cramér-Rao formalism, which establishes quantitative precision bounds for a given quantum probe. In many practical sc…
Quantum Sensing with Nanoelectronics: Fisher Information for an Applied Perturbation
George Mihailescu, Anthony Kiely, Andrew K. Mitchell
Quantum systems used for metrology can offer enhanced precision over their classical counterparts. The design of quantum sensors can be optimized by maximizing the quantum Fisher i…
Multiparameter critical quantum metrology with impurity probes
George Mihailescu, Abolfazl Bayat, Steve Campbell +1
Quantum systems can be used as probes in the context of metrology for enhanced parameter estimation. In particular, the delicacy of critical systems to perturbations can make them…
