Gravitational Memory: an approximate description
Q. -L. Zhao, P. -M. Zhang, M. Elbistan +2
Plane gravitational waves play a role both in relativistic and in non-relativisitic physics, highlighted by two different mass parameters. The large-distance behaviour of a sandwic…
Approximate Models for Gravitational Memory
Q-L Zhao, P. -M. Zhang, M. Elbistan +1
The large-distance approximation of a sandwich gravitational wave by a continuous but not necessarily smooth profile provides us with an approximate analytic description of particl…
The expansion of general relativity in a formulation, revisited
Mahmut Elbistan
We study the expansion of general relativity within a formulation that is compatible with both the Arnowitt-Deser-Misner and the Kol-Smolkin decompositions. The Einstein-Hilb…
Displacement Memory Effect from Supersymmetry
Erdal Catak, Mahmut Elbistan, Mustafa Mullahasanoglu
We explain the recent results on the displacement memory effect (DME) of plane gravitational waves using supersymmetric quantum mechanics. This novel approach stems from that both…
Diffeomorphism Invariance Breaking in Gravity and Cosmological Evolution
Ufuk Aydemir, Mahmut Elbistan
Diffeomorphism invariance breaking has been investigated in the literature in several contexts, including emergent General Relativity (GR). If GR emerges from an underlying theory…
