Nearby galaxies in the LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey IV. A fundamental plane of the radio-SFR relation
V. Heesen, H. W. Edler, M. Brüggen +7
Radio continuum emission has the potential to be an extinction-free tracer of star formation. However, the relation between radio continuum luminosity and star formation rate, the…
Stellar tidal streams around nearby spiral galaxies with deep imaging from amateur telescopes
David Martinez-Delgado, Michael Stein, Joanna D. Sakowska +26
Tidal interactions between massive galaxies and their satellites are fundamental processes in a Universe with L-Cold Dark Matter cosmology, redistributing material into faint featu…
Tracing satellite planes in the Sculptor group: II. Discovery of five faint dwarf galaxies in the DESI Legacy Survey
David Martinez-Delgado, Michael Stein, Marcel S. Pawlowski +5
Although substantial progress has been made in reconciling LCDM simulations with the observed abundance and distribution of satellite galaxies, important tensions persist. Studying…
Stellar Population Properties in the Stellar Streams Around SPRC047
Seppo Laine, David Martınez-Delgado, Kristi A. Webb +5
We have investigated the properties (e.g., age, metallicity) of the stellar populations of a ring-like tidal stellar stream (or streams) around the edge-on galaxy SPRC047 (z = 0.03…
