Unique Science Opportunities for Space VLBI Systems with the SKA Telescopes
Y. Y. Kovalev, G. Bruni, T. An +17
To date, two dedicated Space Very Long Baseline Interferometry (SVLBI) missions, the VLBI Space Observatory Programme (VSOP) and RadioAstron, have provided groundbreaking insights…
Orbit design for mitigating interstellar scattering effects in Earth-space VLBI observations of Sgr A*
Aditya Tamar, Ben Hudson, Daniel C. M. Palumbo
(abridged) The black hole Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*) is a prime target for next-generation Earth-space very-long-baseline interferometry missions such as the Black Hole Explorer (BHEX…
Photon ring polarimetry with next-generation black hole imaging I. M87*
Aditya Tamar, Daniel C. M. Palumbo
The near-horizon region of a black hole impacts linear (LP) and circular polarization (CP) through strong lensing of photons, adding large-scale symmetries and anti-symmetries to t…
Effect of Earth's Oblateness on Black Hole Imaging Through Earth-Space and Space-Space VLBI
Aditya Tamar, Ben Hudson, Daniel Palumbo
Earth-based Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) has made rapid advances in imaging black holes. However, due to the limitations imposed on terrestrial VLBI by the Earth's fini…
