Origin of the IRAS Vela Shell: New Insights from 3D Dust Mapping
Bore Annie Gao, Catherine Zucker, Tirupati Kumara Sridharan +15
The IRAS Vela Shell (IVS) is a structure of enhanced FIR emission located towards the Gum Nebula, a prominent region of emission in the local Milky Way shaped by various g…
The H sky in three dimensions
Lewis McCallum, Kenneth Wood, Robert Benjamin +4
We combine parallax distances to nearby O stars with parsec-scale resolution three-dimensional dust maps of the local region of the Milky Way (within 1.25 kpc of the Sun) to simula…
Deriving Stellar Properties, Distances, and Reddenings using Photometry and Astrometry with BRUTUS
Joshua S. Speagle, Catherine Zucker, Angus Beane +18
We present brutus, an open source Python package for quickly deriving stellar properties, distances, and reddenings to stars based on grids of stellar models constrained by photome…
A Deep, High-Angular Resolution 3D Dust Map of the Southern Galactic Plane
Catherine Zucker, Andrew K. Saydjari, Joshua S. Speagle +8
We present a deep, high-angular resolution 3D dust map of the southern Galactic plane over and built on photometry from the DECaPS2 su…
