Moving Forward with Video Saliency: A New Dataset and Benchmark where Motion Matters
Susmit Agrawal, Rebecca Wanner, Juliane Verwiebe +3
Video saliency prediction is inherently harder to model than static image saliency due to the additional temporal dimension. Video saliency benchmarks rest on the premise that pred…
DeepGaze3.5-VL: Modeling Scanpaths via Autoregressive Token Prediction
Susmit Agrawal, Matthias Bethge, Matthias Kümmerer
Understanding human visual attention on a scene over time has applications in domains such as interface design and inferring cognitive states. Modeling visual scanpaths has histori…
Modeling Saliency Dataset Bias
Matthias Kümmerer, Harneet Singh Khanuja, Matthias Bethge
Recent advances in image-based saliency prediction are approaching gold standard performance levels on existing benchmarks. Despite this success, we show that predicting fixations…
Object segmentation from common fate: Motion energy processing enables human-like zero-shot generalization to random dot stimuli
Matthias Tangemann, Matthias Kümmerer, Matthias Bethge
Humans excel at detecting and segmenting moving objects according to the Gestalt principle of "common fate". Remarkably, previous works have shown that human perception generalizes…
