Interferometric Observations of Algol
T. Borkovits, Sz. Csizmadia, Zs. Paragi +6
We determined the spatial orientation of the Algol AB close pair orbital plane using optical interferometry with the CHARA Array, and radio interferometry with the European VLBI Ne…
Imaging and Modeling Rapidly Rotating Stars: Alpha Cephei and Alpha Ophiuchi
M. Zhao, J. D. Monnier, E. Pedretti +10
We present sub-milliarcseond resolution imaging and modeling of two nearby rapid rotators Alpha Cephei and Alpha Ophiuchi, obtained with the CHARA array - the largest optical/IR in…
Interferometric Studies of Hot Stars at Sydney University
J. G. Robertson, J. Davis, M. J. Ireland +5
The University of Sydney has a long history in optical stellar interferometry. The first project, in the 1960s, was the Narrabri Stellar Intensity Interferometer, which measured th…
CHARA/MIRC interferometry of red supergiants: diameters, effective temperatures and surface features
L. L. Kiss, J. D. Monnier, T. R. Bedding +4
We have obtained H-band interferometric observations of three galactic red supergiant stars using the MIRC instrument on the CHARA array. The targets include AZ Cyg, a field RSG an…
