Full Dynamical Model (SOCOL:14C-Ex) of 14C Atmospheric Production and Transport in Application to Miyake Events
Kseniia Golubenko, Ilya Usoskin, Edouard Bard +2
Extreme solar particle events (ESPEs) are caused by rare, enormously strong solar eruptions and can produce globally detectable spikes in tree-ring radiocarbon 14C, known as Miyake…
The First Four Ground-Level Enhancements in the 1940s: Investigation, Digitisation, and Analysis of Forgotten Data
Hisashi Hayakawa, Stepan Poluianov, Sergey Koldobskiy +4
Intense solar eruptions occasionally accelerate solar energetic particles (SEPs) and can trigger ground-level enhancements (GLEs). Among the 77 known GLEs, the first four GLEs, #1…
The high-energy protons of the ground level enhancement (GLE74) event on 11 May 2024
A. Papaioannou, A. Mishev, I. Usoskin +19
High energy solar protons were observed by particle detectors aboard spacecraft in near-Earth orbit on May 11, 2024 and produced the 74th ground level enhancement (GLE74) event reg…
The Solar and Geomagnetic Storms in May 2024: A Flash Data Report
Hisashi Hayakawa, Yusuke Ebihara, Alexander Mishev +16
In May 2024, the scientific community observed intense solar eruptions that resulted in a great geomagnetic storm and auroral extension, highlighting the need to document and quant…
