The Receding Cosmic Shoreline of Mid-to-Late M Dwarfs: Measurements of Active Lifetimes Worsen Challenges for Atmosphere Retention by Rocky Exoplanets
Emily K Pass, David Charbonneau, Andrew Vanderburg
Detecting and characterizing the atmospheres of terrestrial exoplanets is a key goal of exoplanetary astronomy, one that may now be within reach given the upcoming campaign to cond…
The True Stellar Obliquity of a Sub-Saturn Planet from the Tierras Observatory and KPF
Patrick Tamburo, Samuel W. Yee, Juliana García-Mejía +7
We measure the true obliquity of TOI-2364, a K dwarf with a sub-Saturn-mass () transiting planet on the upper edge of the hot Neptune desert. We used new Rossiter-…
Discovery of two new polars evolved past the period bounce
Tim Cunningham, Ilaria Caiazzo, Gracjan Sienkiewicz +13
We report the discovery of two new magnetic cataclysmic variables with brown dwarf companions and long orbital periods ( and min). This discovery incr…
The dearth of high-mass hydrogen-atmosphere metal-polluted white dwarfs within 40 pc
Tim Cunningham, Pier-Emmanuel Tremblay, Mairi O'Brien +7
We present a population synthesis model which addresses the different mass distributions of the metal-polluted and non-metal-polluted hydrogen-atmosphere white dwarfs identified in…
