Modular Bosonic Subsystem Codes
Giacomo Pantaleoni, Ben Q. Baragiola, Nicolas C. Menicucci
We introduce a framework to decompose a bosonic mode into two virtual subsystems-a logical qubit and a gauge mode. This framework allows the entire toolkit of qubit-based quantum i…
Robust fault tolerance for continuous-variable cluster states with excess anti-squeezing
Blayney W. Walshe, Lucas J. Mensen, Ben Q. Baragiola +1
The immense scalability of continuous-variable cluster states motivates their study as a platform for quantum computing, with fault tolerance possible given sufficient squeezing an…
All-Gaussian universality and fault tolerance with the Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill code
Ben Q. Baragiola, Giacomo Pantaleoni, Rafael N. Alexander +2
The Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill (GKP) encoding of a qubit within an oscillator is particularly appealing for fault-tolerant quantum computing with bosons because Gaussian operations…
Quantum computing with rotation-symmetric bosonic codes
Arne L. Grimsmo, Joshua Combes, Ben Q. Baragiola
Bosonic rotation codes, introduced here, are a broad class of bosonic error-correcting codes based on phase-space rotation symmetry. We present a universal quantum computing scheme…
