Gaia Data Release 1, Pre-processing and source list creation
C. Fabricius, U. Bastian, J. Portell +1
The first data release from the Gaia mission contains accurate positions and magnitudes for more than a billion sources, and proper motions and parallaxes for the majority of the 2…
Gaia Data Release 1. Summary of the astrometric, photometric, and survey properties
Gaia Collaboration, A. G. A. Brown, A. Vallenari +5
At about 1000 days after the launch of Gaia we present the first Gaia data release, Gaia DR1, consisting of astrometry and photometry for over 1 billion sources brighter than magni…
The Gaia mission
Gaia Collaboration
Gaia is a cornerstone mission in the science programme of the European Space Agency (ESA). The spacecraft construction was approved in 2006, following a study in which the original…
A new Wolf-Rayet star in Cygnus
A. Pasquali, F. Comeron, R. Gredel +2
We report the discovery of a new Wolf-Rayet star in the direction of Cygnus. The star is strongly reddened but quite bright in the infrared, with J = 9.22, H = 8.08 and K = 7.09 (2…
The luminosity calibration of the uvby- photometry
C. Jordi, X. Luri, E. Masana +5
The ESA HIPPARCOS satellite has provided astrometry of unprecedented accuracy, allowing to reassess, improve and refine the pre-HIPPARCOS luminosity calibrations. We review the "cl…
