Surveying the Whirlpool at Arcseconds with NOEMA (SWAN). IV. Extent of active galactic nucleus feedback on the interstellar medium
Mallory D. Thorp, Antonio Usero, Frank Bigiel +19
Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) are intertwined with galaxy evolution, injecting energy into the interstellar medium (ISM) that could regulate star formation as a galaxy evolves. Howe…
Surveying the Whirlpool at Arcseconds with NOEMA (SWAN): III. CO/CO ratio variations across the M51 galaxy
Ina Galić, Mallory Thorp, Frank Bigiel +16
CO isotopologues are common tracers of the bulk molecular gas in extragalactic studies, providing insights into the physical and chemical conditions of the cold molecular gas, a re…
Surveying the Whirlpool at Arcseconds with NOEMA (SWAN) II: Survey design and observations
K. Sophia Stuber, Jerome Pety, Antonio Usero +18
We present Surveying the Whirlpool at Arcseconds with NOEMA (SWAN), a high-resolution, high-sensitivity survey to map molecular lines in the 3mm band in M51 (the Whirlpool galaxy).…
CO isotopologue-derived molecular gas conditions and CO-to-H conversion factors in M51
Jakob den Brok, María J. Jiménez-Donaire, Adam Leroy +24
Over the past decade, several millimeter interferometer programs have mapped the nearby star-forming galaxy M51 at a spatial resolution of pc. This study combines observ…
