The role of mass transfer efficiency in stability criteria: Implementation in SEVN and a test on blue stragglers and binary compact objects
M. Echeveste, G. J. Escobar, G. Iorio +12
Context: The stability of mass transfer through Roche-lobe overflow plays a key role in shaping the outcome of binary interactions. However, the criterion for mass transfer stabili…
Stellar rotation and binaries in open clusters with Gaia DR3
Elena Pancino, Elisabetta Reggiani, Silvia Marinoni +14
Stellar rotation is a fundamental ingredient in shaping the evolution of stars and it can also be used to trace past stellar interactions. Yet, systematic studies of stellar rotati…
Robust ellipticity measurements of 29 Galactic globular clusters
Laurane Fréour, Ellen Leitinger, Elena Pancino +2
Globular clusters (GCs) exhibit varying degrees of flattening (ellipticity), which may provide insight into their internal dynamics and evolution histories. Commonly used methods t…
Not all nitrogen-rich field stars originate from globular clusters
Ellen I. Leitinger, Andrea Miglio, Josefina Montalbán +7
Globular clusters (GCs) are important tracers of the early Galactic assembly process, with part of their stars showing distinct chemical abundance patterns. When such stars are fou…
