BOWIE-ALIGN: Weak spectral features in KELT-7b's JWST NIRSpec/G395H transmission spectrum imply a high cloud deck or a low-metallicity atmosphere
Eva-Maria Ahrer, Charlotte Fairman, James Kirk +20
Hot Jupiters and their atmospheres are prime targets for transmission spectroscopy due to their extended atmospheres and the corresponding large signal-to-noise, providing the best…
HD 28471: a near-resonant compact multiplanet system with a possible cold giant planet
A. T. Stevenson, C. A. Haswell, J. R. Barnes +5
We present radial velocity measurements of the star HD 28471, observed by HARPS at the ESO 3.6 m telescope over a baseline of years. We have searched for planetary compani…
WASP-121b's transmission spectrum observed with JWST/NIRSpec G395H reveals thermal dissociation and SiO in the atmosphere
Cyril Gapp, Thomas M. Evans-Soma, Joanna K. Barstow +8
WASP-121b has been established as a benchmark ultrahot Jupiter, serving as a laboratory for the atmospheric chemistry and dynamics of strongly irradiated extrasolar gas giants. Her…
RV-exoplanet eccentricities: Good, Beta, and Best
A. T. Stevenson, C. A. Haswell, J. P. Faria +4
We examine the eccentricity distribution(s) of radial velocity detected exoplanets. Previously, the eccentricity distribution was found to be described well by a Beta distribution…
