Study of few-electron backgrounds in the LUX-ZEPLIN detector
D. S. Akerib, A. K. Al Musalhi, F. Alder +204
The LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment aims to detect rare interactions between dark matter particles and xenon. Although the detector is designed to be the most sensitive to GeV/--Te…
Low-energy nuclear recoil calibration of the LUX-ZEPLIN experiment with a photoneutron source
J. Aalbers, D. S. Akerib, A. K. Al Musalhi +206
The LZ experiment is a liquid xenon time-projection chamber (TPC) searching for evidence of particle dark matter interactions. In the simplest assumption of elastic scattering, man…
Flow-dependent tagging of Pb decays in the LZ dark matter detector
J. Aalbers, D. S. Akerib, A. K. Al Musalhi +205
The LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment is searching for dark matter interactions in a liquid xenon time projection chamber (LXe-TPC). This article demonstrates how control of the flow stat…
Nuclear Recoil Calibration at Sub-keV Energies in LUX and Its Impact on Dark Matter Search Sensitivity
LUX Collaboration, D. S. Akerib, S. Alsum +94
Dual-phase xenon time projection chamber (TPC) detectors offer heightened sensitivities for dark matter detection across a spectrum of particle masses. To broaden their capability…
