A scaling relationship for non-thermal radio emission from ordered magnetospheres - II. Investigating the efficiency of relativistic electron production in magnetospheres of BA-type stars
P. Leto, S. Owocki, C. Trigilio +19
Magnetic BA stars host dipole-like magnetospheres. When detected as radio sources, their luminosities correlate with the magnetic field and rotation. Rotation is crucial because th…
The effect of collisional cooling of energetic electrons on radio emission from the centrifugal magnetospheres of magnetic hot stars
B. Das, S. P. Owocki
This paper extends our previous study of gyro-emission by energetic electrons in the magnetospheres of rapidly rotating, magnetic massive stars, through a quantitative analysis of…
Discovery of the binary nature of the magnetospheric B-type star Oph A
M. E. Shultz, I. Berry, D. Bohlender +11
The nearby B-type star Oph A was recently identified as a rapidly rotating magnetic B-type star with variable radio and X-ray emission consistent with a magnetospheric origin.…
X-ray and radio data obtained by XMM-Newton and VLA constrain the stellar wind of the magnetic quasi-Wolf-Rayet star in HD45166
P. Leto, L. M. Oskinova, T. Shenar +9
Recently, a powerful magnetic field was discovered in the hot helium star classified as a quasi-Wolf-Rayet star of ~2Msun, member of the HD45166 system. Upon its explosion as a cor…
