Cross-Modal Knowledge Distillation for Acoustic Pedestrian Detection
Yonghyun Kim, Chaeyeon Han, Sancho Gatungay +2
Audio-only pedestrian detection is attractive for urban sensing but limited by weak acoustic cues. An appealing strategy is cross-modal knowledge distillation, in which a video tea…
Audio-Based Pedestrian Detection in the Presence of Vehicular Noise
Yonghyun Kim, Chaeyeon Han, Akash Sarode +3
Audio-based pedestrian detection is a challenging task and has, thus far, only been explored in noise-limited environments. We present a new dataset, results, and a detailed analys…
Understanding Pedestrian Movement Using Urban Sensing Technologies: The Promise of Audio-based Sensors
Chaeyeon Han, Pavan Seshadri, Yiwei Ding +5
While various sensors have been deployed to monitor vehicular flows, sensing pedestrian movement is still nascent. Yet walking is a significant mode of travel in many cities, espec…
ASPED: An Audio Dataset for Detecting Pedestrians
Pavan Seshadri, Chaeyeon Han, Bon-Woo Koo +3
We introduce the new audio analysis task of pedestrian detection and present a new large-scale dataset for this task. While the preliminary results prove the viability of using aud…
