Active galactic nucleus driven jet feedback in cosmologically forming cool-core galaxy clusters I: The effect of hierarchical assembly on intra-cluster medium properties
Rainer Weinberger, Lorenzo Maria Perrone, Christoph Pfrommer +7
The atmospheres of cool-core galaxy clusters are excellent probes of astrophysical plasmas. However, how the interplay between assembly and active galactic nucleus (AGN) feedback l…
The Lumina Project: Intergalactic Clumping and Recombination Sinks
Ali Sadain, Aaron Smith, Oliver Zier +10
Recombinations during the Epoch of Reionization are intrinsically inhomogeneous, with different regions of the intergalactic medium contributing unevenly depending on their density…
The Lumina Project: The Demographics of Active Galactic Nuclei from Quasars to Little Red Dots at
Xuejian Shen, Oliver Zier, Aaron Smith +16
High-redshift active galactic nuclei (AGN) serve as powerful probes of early black-hole growth, galaxy formation, and the evolving intergalactic medium (IGM). In this work, we use…
Towards physically more comprehensive AGN modelling in cosmological simulations: A MACER-based modification of IllustrisTNG
Bocheng Zhu, Volker Springel, Feng Yuan
Active galactic nuclei (AGN) feedback plays a significant role in many aspects of galaxy formation and evolution and has become a key ingredient in cosmological simulations. Howeve…
