Detection and characterisation of binary asteroid candidates through stellar occultations
R. Lallemand, J. Desmars, B. Sicardy +256
Binary asteroids provide key access to fundamental parameters of Solar System remnants and planetary formations. However, the current knowledge of binary asteroids remains strongly…
StreakMind: AI detection and analysis of satellite streaks in astronomical images with automated database integration
Rafael Carrillo Navarro, René Duffard, Pablo García-Martín +3
Artificial satellites and space debris increasingly contaminate astronomical images, affecting scientific surveys and producing large volumes of streaked exposures. Manual inspecti…
JWST occultation reveals unforeseen complexity in Chariklo's ring system
Pablo Santos-Sanz, Altair R. Gomes-Júnior, Bruno E. Morgado +25
Ring systems have been discovered around several small bodies in the outer Solar System through stellar occultations. While such measurements provide key information about ring geo…
Synchronous Rotation in the (120347) Salacia-Actaea System
Cameron Collyer, Estela Fernandez-Valenzuela, Jose Luis Ortiz +8
We report on roughly 16 years of photometric monitoring of the transneptunian binary system (120347) Salacia-Actaea which provides significant evidence that Salacia and Actaea are…
