The Cosmic Ultraviolet Baryon Survey X: Density and Pressure Profiles of Clumpy Circumgalactic Gas at
Suyash Kumar, Hsiao-Wen Chen, Gwen C. Rudie +14
The thermodynamic state and turbulent properties of the cool circumgalactic medium (CGM) are investigated for 23 galaxies and galaxy groups at intermediate redshift (--0.7)…
MUSEQuBES: Physical conditions, origins, and multi-element abundances of the circumgalactic medium of an isolated, star-forming dwarf galaxy at z=0.57
Sean D. Johnson, Nishant Mishra, Sowgat Muzahid +13
In dwarf galaxy models, outflows expel metal-enriched interstellar medium (ISM) into the circumgalactic medium (CGM) to reproduce their observed low metallicities, but measurements…
Non-equilibrium ionization in the multiphase circumgalactic medium -- impact on quasar absorption-line analyses
Suyash Kumar, Hsiao-Wen Chen
This paper presents an updated framework for studying the ionizing conditions and elemental abundances of photoionized, metal-enriched quasar absorption systems. The standard assum…
On the Nature of the C IV-bearing Circumgalactic Medium at z~1
Suyash Kumar, Hsiao-Wen Chen, Zhijie Qu +5
This paper presents a detailed study of the physical properties of seven C IV absorbers identified at z_abs = 0.68-1.28 along the line of sight toward QSO PG 1522+101 (z_QSO = 1.33…
