Pre-flight Background Estimates for COSI
Savitri Gallego, Uwe Oberlack, Jan Lommler +14
The Compton Spectrometer and Imager (COSI) is a Compton telescope designed to survey the 0.2 - 5 MeV sky, consisting of a compact array of cross-strip germanium detectors. It is pl…
In-orbit Spectral Calibration Prospects for the COSI Space Telescope
Aravind B. Valluvan, Steven E. Boggs, Savitri Gallego +8
The Compton Spectrometer and Imager is an upcoming NASA space telescope in the MeV range. COSI's primary science goals include precisely mapping nuclear line and positron annihilat…
Enhancing Compton telescope imaging with maximum a posteriori estimation: a modified Richardson-Lucy algorithm for the Compton Spectrometer and Imager
Hiroki Yoneda, Thomas Siegert, Israel Martinez-Castellanos +23
We present a modified Richardson-Lucy (RL) algorithm tailored for image reconstruction in MeV gamma-ray observations, focusing on its application to the upcoming Compton Spectromet…
Bottom-up Background Simulations of the 2016 COSI Balloon Flight
Savitri Gallego, Uwe Oberlack, Jan Lommler +8
The Compton Spectrometer and Imager (COSI) is a Compton telescope designed to survey the 0.2-5 MeV sky, consisting of a compact array of cross-strip germanium detectors. As part of…
