Power Ensemble Aggregation for Improved Extreme Event AI Prediction
Julien Collard, Pierre Gentine, Tian Zheng
This paper addresses the critical challenge of improving predictions of climate extreme events, specifically heat waves, using machine learning methods. Our work is framed as a cla…
Differentiable Land Model Reveals Global Environmental Controls on Ecological Parameters
Jianing Fang, Kevin Bowman, Wenli Zhao +2
Do ecosystems primarily reflect evolutionary history or current environment? Predicting land-atmosphere exchange hinges on this unresolved question. Plant traits adapt to particula…
Reconstruction of a Long-term spatially Contiguous Solar-Induced Fluorescence (LCSIF) over 1982-2022
Jianing Fang, Xu Lian, Youngryel Ryu +3
Satellite-observed solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) is a powerful proxy for diagnosing the photosynthetic characteristics of terrestrial ecosystems. Despite the increas…
Transferring climate change physical knowledge
Francesco Immorlano, Veronika Eyring, Thomas le Monnier de Gouville +5
Precise and reliable climate projections are required for climate adaptation and mitigation, but Earth system models still exhibit great uncertainties. Several approaches have been…
