EP250827b/SN 2025wkm: An X-ray Flash-Supernova Powered by a Central Engine and Circumstellar Interaction
Gokul P. Srinivasaragavan, Dongyue Li, Xander J. Hall +100
We present the discovery of EP250827b/SN 2025wkm, an X-ray Flash (XRF) discovered by the Einstein Probe (EP), accompanied by a broad-line Type Ic supernova (SN Ic-BL) at $z = 0.119…
Observations of Five Southern-Hemisphere Cataclysmic Binary Stars
John R. Thorstensen, Annabelle E. Niblett, Shreya Gandhi +7
We present observations and analyses of five little-studied cataclysmic binary stars in the southern celestial hemisphere. Our new observations are from the South African Astronomi…
A 16 Myr super-Neptune in Upper-Centaurus Lupus and a preliminary survey of transiting planets in Sco-Cen with TESS
Sydney Vach, George Zhou, Andrew W. Mann +25
Measuring the properties of planets younger than about 50 Myr helps to test different planetary formation and evolution models. NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS)…
Studying the Power Sources Behind Type Ic Supernovae
Annabelle E. Niblett, Daniel A. Fryer, Christopher L. Fryer
Astrophysical transients can be powered by a broad range of energy sources including shock-heating (internal and external shocks), decay of radioactive isotopes, and long-lived cen…
