Large gas inflow driven by a matured galactic bar in the early Universe
Shuo Huang, Ryohei Kawabe, Hideki Umehata +3
Bar structures are present in about half of local disk galaxies and play pivotal roles in secular galaxy evolution. Bars impose a non-axisymmetric perturbation to the rotating disk…
Warm Gas in the Vicinity of a Supermassive Black hole 13 Billion Years Ago
Ken-ichi Tadaki, Federico Esposito, Livia Vallini +4
Quasars, powered by supermassive black holes (SMBH), are among the brightest objects in the universe. In the vicinity of an SMBH, X-ray photons from an active galactic nucleus (AGN…
ADF22-WEB: A giant barred spiral starburst galaxy in the z = 3.1 SSA22 protocluster core
H. Umehata, C. C. Steidel, I. Smail +15
In the present-day universe, the most massive galaxies are ellipticals located in the cores of galaxy clusters, harboring the heaviest super-massive black holes (SMBHs). However th…
Implication of a galaxy-scale negative feedback by one of the most powerful multi-phase outflows in a hyper-luminous infrared galaxy at the intermediate redshift
Xiaoyang Chen, Masayuki Akiyama, Kohei Ichikawa +12
Powerful, galactic outflows driven by Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs) are commonly considered as a main mechanism to regulate star formation in massive galaxies. Ultra- and hyper-lum…
