Edge-Native, Behavior-Adaptive Drone System for Wildlife Monitoring
Jenna Kline, Rugved Katole, Tanya Berger-Wolf +1
Wildlife monitoring with drones must balance competing demands: approaching close enough to capture behaviorally-relevant video while avoiding stress responses that compromise anim…
Ortho-Fuse: Orthomosaic Generation for Sparse High-Resolution Crop Health Maps Through Intermediate Optical Flow Estimation
Rugved Katole, Christopher Stewart
AI-driven crop health mapping systems offer substantial advantages over conventional monitoring approaches through accelerated data acquisition and cost reduction. However, widespr…
SmartWilds: Multimodal Wildlife Monitoring Dataset
Jenna Kline, Anirudh Potlapally, Bharath Pillai +7
We present the first release of SmartWilds, a multimodal wildlife monitoring dataset. SmartWilds is a synchronized collection of drone imagery, camera trap photographs and videos,…
Balancing Priorities in Patrolling with Rabbit Walks
Rugved Katole, Deepak Mallya, Leena Vachhani +1
In an environment with certain locations of higher priority, it is required to patrol these locations as frequently as possible due to their importance. However, the Non-Priority l…
Swarm Self Clustering for Communication denied Environments without Global Positioning
Sweksha Jain, Rugved Katole, Leena Vachhani
In this work, we investigate swarm self-clustering, where robots autonomously organize into spatially coherent groups using only local sensing and decision-making, without external…
A low-cost Framework for Decentralized Autonomous Intersection Management
Rugved Katole, Arpita Sinha
This paper addresses the traffic management problem for autonomous vehicles at intersections without traffic signals. In the current system, a road junction has no traffic signals…
