Physics Attention Transformer Surrogate for Rapid Vertical Instability Growth Rate Prediction: Alcator C-Mod to SPARC
Arunav Kumar, Cesar Clauser, Theodore Golfinopoulos +5
In this work, we investigate rapid prediction of the dominant vertical instability growth rate in C-Mod and SPARC equilibria, where nonrigid free boundary response models a…
On the feasibility of model-based feedback control of vertical instability growth rate using out-vessel coils in ARC-like scenarios
Arunav Kumar, Cesar Clauser, Theodore Golfinopoulos +1
In this work, we propose a model-based feedback controller that regulates the vertical instability growth rate () of a high-elongation, double-null tokamak directly, using…
Electron-Scale-Driven Turbulence by Negative-Density-Gradient in NSTX
C. Clauser, J. Candy, J. Parisi +7
Gyrokinetic simulations of an NSTX spherical-tokamak plasma reveal novel negative-density-gradient (NDG) drift waves at electron-gyroradius-scale that drive turbulent transport com…
Simulations of internal kink modes and sawtooth crashes for SPARC baseline-like scenarios using the M3D-C1 code
W. H. Wang, C. Clauser, C. Liu +2
A relaxed baseline case, based on the Primary Reference Discharge (PRD) design point, is used to conduct a first dedicated investigation for the most unstable low- MHD instabili…
