NEO and imminent impactor discoveries from Hungary: recent results and lessons learnt
Norton O. Szabo, Krisztian Sarneczky, Laszlo L. Kiss +15
2022 EB5, 2023 CX1 and 2024 BX1: these are the three recent imminent impactor discoveries from the Piszkéstető Mountain Station of the Konkoly Observatory. They make up about one p…
A high geometric albedo and small size of the Haumea cluster member (24835) 1995 SM55 from a stellar occultation and photometric observations
J. L. Ortiz, N. Morales, B. Sicardy +98
Trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) are among the most ancient bodies of the solar system. Understanding their physical properties is key to constraining their origin and the evolution…
Three fast-spinning medium-sized Hilda asteroids uncovered by TESS
Nóra Takács, Csaba Kiss, Róbert Szakáts +8
Hilda asteroids, which orbit in a 3:2 resonance with Jupiter, serve as key indicators of dynamical processes in the early solar system. Their spin rates, an important probe of thes…
Asteroid sizes determined with thermophysical model and stellar occultations
A. Choukroun, A. Marciniak, J. Ďurech +165
Context. The sizes of many asteroids, especially slowly rotating, low-amplitude targets, remain poorly constrained due to selection effects. These biases limit the availability of…
