A fast radio burst from a non-targeted low-frequency survey
Cristian Di Pietrantonio, Marcin Sokolowski, Clancy W. James +13
Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are bright, millisecond-duration transient radio signals of extragalactic origin with unknown source and emission mechanisms. While several thousand FRBs h…
Discovery of a 24-millisecond pulsar in a very long orbit with the Murchison Widefield Array
Chia Min Tan, N. D. Ramesh Bhat, Bradley W. Meyers +9
We report the discovery of PSR J01255854, a pulsar with a spin period of 24 ms and a dispersion measure of 11.66 pc cm in the ongoing Southern-sky MWA Rapid Two-metre (SMAR…
The ONs and OFFs of Pulsar Radio Emission: Characterizing the Nulling Phenomenon
Garvit Grover, N. D. Ramesh Bhat, Samuel J. McSweeney +4
Radio emission from pulsars is known to exhibit a diverse range of emission phenomena, among which nulling, where the emission becomes temporarily undetectable, is an intriguing on…
Discovery and follow-up of a quasiperiodically nulling and sub-pulse drifting pulsar with the Murchison Widefield Array
G. Grover, N. D. R. Bhat, S. McSweeney +4
The phenomenon of pulsar nulling, where pulsars temporarily and stochastically cease their radio emission, is thought to be indicative of a `dying' pulsar, where radio emission cea…
