The Solirad (So) as a Convenient Unit for Quoting Astronomical Irradiances for Planetary Insolations and Exoplanetary Instellations
Eric E. Mamajek, Jason T. Wright, Noah W. Tuchow +3
Measurements of physical parameters for stars and (exo)planets are often quoted in units normalized to the Sun and/or Earth. The nominal total solar irradiance, ${S}^{\rm N}_{\odot…
A Stellar Magnesium to Silicon ratio in the atmosphere of an exoplanet
Jorge A. Sanchez, Peter C. B. Smith, Krishna Kanumalla +17
The elemental compositions of exoplanets encode information about their formation environments and internal structures. While volatile ratios such as carbon-to-oxygen (C/O) are use…
Continuous Habitable Zone Metric for Prioritizing Habitable Worlds Observatory Targets
Austin Ware, Patrick Young
Future direct imaging space telescopes, such as NASA's Habitable Worlds Observatory (HWO), will be the first capable of both detecting and characterizing terrestrial exoplanets in…
Utilizing Machine Learning to Predict Host Stars and the Key Elemental Abundances of Small Planets
Amílcar R. Torres-Quijano, Natalie R. Hinkel, Caleb H. Wheeler +3
Stars and their associated planets originate from the same cloud of gas and dust, making a star's elemental composition a valuable indicator for indirectly studying planetary compo…
