On the Relationship Between Nanoflare Energy and Delay in the Closed Solar Corona
Shanwlee Sow Mondal, James A. Klimchuk, Craig D. Johnston +1
Determining the relationship between nanoflare energies and their delays is the key for understanding the physical mechanism of the events and the plasma response. Nanoflares analy…
Characterizing Nanoflare Energy and Frequency through Field Line Analysis
Shanwlee Sow Mondal, Lars K. S. Daldorff, James A. Klimchuk +1
We present a detailed analysis of a 3D MHD simulation of a subset of the magnetic flux in an active region. The simulation models the generation of nanoflares and response of the p…
Modeling of AR 12760 with GX Simulator and Evidence for the Extended Transition Region in Peripheral Active Region Loops
Therese A. Kucera, Gelu M. Nita, James A. Klimchuk +1
In order to understand solar atmospheric heating it is important to test heating models against spatially resolved data from solar active regions. Here we model a small active regi…
Anomalous cross-field motions of solar coronal loops
Sudip Mandal, Hardi Peter, James A. Klimchuk +1
Here, we present several examples of unusual evolutionary patterns in solar coronal loops that resemble cross-field drift motions. These loops were simultaneously observed from two…
