The Likelihood of Hosting Undetected Brown Dwarfs in the Solar Vicinity
Diana Bakirova, Oleg Malkov
Based on the spatial distribution of objects in the solar neighbourhood with a radius of 20 parsecs, and after correcting for the incompleteness of observational data, an expressio…
Long-period double-lined eclipsing binaries: the system V454 Aur with the secondary eclipse caused by the occultation of the hotter component
Kniazev Alexei, Malkov Oleg, Gorda Stanislav +2
We present the results of our study of the long-period eclipsing binary star \Aur. The results are based on spectroscopic data obtained with the UFES échelle spectrograph and photo…
New ultracool dwarf candidates from multi-epoch WISE data
Sergey Karpov, Oleg Malkov, Aleksandra Avdeeva
Thirty years after the discovery of brown dwarfs, the search for these objects continues, particularly in the vicinity of the Sun. Objects near the Sun are characterized by large p…
New distances for a selected set of visual binaries with inconsistent dynamical masses
V. S. Tamazian, O. Y. Malkov, J. A. Docobo +2
We have selected a set of 17 visual binaries that demonstrate great inconsistency between the systemic mass obtained through Kepler's Third Law as compared to that calculated throu…
