Control of dynamical phase transitions and non-ergodic relaxation via spinor phases
J. O. Austin-Harris, P. Sigdel, C. Binegar +3
Utilizing ultracold spinor gases as large-scale, many-body quantum simulation platforms, we establish a toolbox for the precise control, characterization, and detection of nonequil…
Lattice-enabled detection of spin-dependent three-body interactions
C. Binegar, J. O. Austin-Harris, S. E. Begg +3
We present the experimental detection of coherent three-body interactions, often masked by stronger two-body effects, through nonequilibrium spin dynamics induced by controllably q…
Dark Soliton Formation as a Dark-State Phase Transition in a Dissipative Superfluid Josephson Junction Chain
Robbe Ceulemans, Samuel E. Begg, Matthew J. Davis +1
We identify and characterize a first-order dark-state phase transition between a discrete dark soliton and a uniform superfluid in a Bose-Hubbard chain with a single lossy site. Us…
Nonequilibrium Critical Scaling of a Squeezing Phase Transition
Arman Duha, S. E. Begg, Thomas Bilitewski
We investigate phase transitions in the nonequilibrium dynamics of power-law interacting spin-1/2 bilayer XXZ models, which have recently been shown to allow generation of entangle…
