Cycle times of early M dwarf stars: mean field models versus observations
Manfred Küker, Günther Rüdiger, Katalin Oláh +1
Observations of early-type M stars suggest that there are two characteristic cycle times, one of order one year for fast rotators ( day) and another of order four…
Electrodynamics of turbulent fluids with fluctuating electric conductivity
G. Rüdiger, M. Küker, P. J. Käpylä
The influence of fluctuating conductivity on the coefficients known from the mean-field electrodynamics is considered. If the conductivity fluctuations are assumed as uncorrelated…
A short and sudden increase of the magnetic field strength and the accompanying spectral variability in the O9.7V star HD54879
S. Hubrig, M. Kueker, S. P. Jarvinen +4
Only eleven O-type stars have been confirmed to possess large-scale organized magnetic fields. The presence of a -600G longitudinal magnetic field in the O9.7V star HD54879 with a…
Antisolar differential rotation of slowly rotating cool stars
G. Rüdiger, M. Küker, P. Käpylä +1
Rotating stellar convection transports angular momentum towards the equator, generating the characteristic equatorial acceleration of the solar rotation while the radial flux of an…
