HATPI Pre-Perihelion Time-series Photometry of the Interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS
Joel D. Hartman, Gáspár Á. Bakos, Andrés Jordán +10
HATPI is a recently commissioned time-domain facility at Las Campanas Observatory, Chile, that uses 64 wide-angle, 9.6 cm diameter lenses and back-illuminated CCDs, yielding a mosa…
An Orbital House of Cards: Frequent Satellite Close Conjunctions
Sarah Thiele, Skye R. Heiland, Aaron C. Boley +1
The number of objects in orbit is rapidly increasing, primarily driven by the launch of megaconstellations, an approach to satellite constellation design that involves large number…
Comparing subgrid models for cosmic ray diffusion in a magnetized isolated galaxy simulation
Sarah Thiele, Romain Teyssier
Galactic cosmic rays (CRs) play a crucial role in galaxy formation and evolution by altering gas dynamics and chemistry across multiple scales. Typical numerical simulations of CR…
Recovering Injected Astrophysics from the LISA Galactic Double White Dwarf Binaries
Vera Delfavero, Katelyn Breivik, Sarah Thiele +2
We present the successful recovery of common envelope ejection efficiency assumed in a simulated population of double white dwarf binaries like those which may be observed by the f…
