The Magellanic System: What have we learnt from FUSE?
N. Lehner
I review some of the findings on the Magellanic System produced by the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) during and after its eight years of service. The Magellanic Sys…
Modeling H2 Fluorescence in Planetary Atmospheres with Partial Frequency Redistribution
R. E. Lupu, P. D. Feldman, S. R. McCandliss +1
We present the modeling of partial frequency redistribution (PRD) effects for the fluorescent emission lines of molecular hydrogen, the general computational approximations, and th…
Essential observations of the Lyman continuum
Stephan R. McCandliss
Concurrent observations of Lyman continuum (LyC) and Lyman-alpha (Lya) emission escaping from star-forming systems at low redshift are essential to understanding the physics of rei…
Intergalactic Baryons in the Local Universe
Charles W. Danforth
Simulations predict that shocks from large-scale structure formation and galactic winds have reduced the fraction of baryons in the warm, photoionized phase (the Lya forest) from n…
FUSE Observations of an X-Ray Bright Region in the Vela Supernova Remnant
Ravi Sankrit, R. L. Shelton, W. P. Blair +2
We present the results of a FUSE observation of an X-ray selected knot in the Vela supernova remnant. Spectra were obtained through the 30"x30" low resolution aperture and the 4"x2…
