Multi-probe study of excited states in : disentangling the sources of monopole strength between the Hoyle state and MeV
K. C. W. Li, F. D. Smit, P. Adsley +24
Knowledge of the low-lying monopole strength in , the Hoyle state in particular, is crucial for our understanding of both the astrophysically important reacti…
Isoscalar monopole and dipole transitions in Mg, Mg and Si
P. Adsley, V. O. Nesterenko, M. Kimura +16
Nuclei in the -shell demonstrate a remarkable interplay of cluster and mean-field phenomena. The nuclei, such as Mg and Si, have been the focus of the theor…
Fine Structure of the Isovector Giant Dipole Resonance in Nd and Sm
L. M. Donaldson, J. Carter, P. von Neumann-Cosel +35
Background: Inelastic proton scattering at energies of a few hundred MeV and very-forward angles including has been established as a tool to study electric-dipole strengt…
Fine structure of the isoscalar giant monopole resonance in Ca
S. D. Olorunfunmi, I. T. Usman, J. Carter +19
Experiments investigating the fine structure of the IsoScalar Giant Monopole Resonance (ISGMR) of 48Ca were carried out with a 200 MeV alpha inelastic-scattering reaction, using th…
