Assessing the differences between numerical methods, CAD evaluations and real experiments for the assessement of reach envelopes of the human body
Mathieu Delangle, Jean François Petiot, Emilie Poirson
Numerical models and computer-aided modeling software are tools commonly used to assess the accessibility of an environment, based on static human body dimensions. In this paper, t…
Study of human accessibility: physical tests versus numerical simulation
Mathieu Delangle, Émilie Poirson, Jean François Petiot
Consideration of physical dimensions of the user population is essential to design adapted environment. This variability in body dimensions (called "anthropometry") is involved in…
Assessing the differences between numerical methods and real experiments for the evaluation of reach envelopes of the human body
Mathieu Delangle, Jean François Petiot, Emilie Poirson
The use of static human body dimensions to assess the human accessibility is an essential part of an ergonomic approach in user-centered design. Assessments of reach capability are…
Subjective Evaluation of Forms in an Immersive Environment
Jean-François Petiot, Damien Chablat
User's perception of product, by essence subjective, is a major topic in marketing and industrial design. Many methods, based on users' tests, are used so as to characterise this p…
