3D CMZ V: A new orbital model of our Galaxy's Center, informed by data across the electromagnetic spectrum
Dani R. Lipman, Cara Battersby, Daniel Walker +9
The 3D structure of The Milky Way's Central Molecular Zone (CMZ) informs our understanding of star formation cycles, black hole accretion, and the evolution of galactic nuclei. How…
VLTI/GRAVITY upper limit on near-infrared emission from the nearby 33 Msun black hole Gaia BH3
Pierre Kervella, Pasquale Panuzzo, Alexandre Gallenne +11
The recent astrometric discovery of the nearby (590 pc) massive () dormant black hole candidate Gaia BH3 offers the possibility to angularly resolve the black hole from…
3D MC I: X-ray Tomography Begins to Unravel the 3-D Structure of a Molecular Cloud in our Galaxy's Center
Samantha W. Brunker, Cara Battersby, Danya Alboslani +5
Astronomers have used observations of the Galactic gas and dust via infrared, microwave, and radio to study molecular clouds in extreme environments such as the Galactic center. Mo…
3D MC II: X ray echoes reveal a clumpy molecular cloud in the CMZ
Danya Alboslani, Cara Battersby, Samantha Brunker +3
X-ray observations collected over the last decades have revealed a strongly variable X-ray signal within the Milky Way's Galactic center, interpreted as X-ray echoes from its super…
