A fast radio burst from the first 3 billion years of the Universe
Manisha Caleb, Themiya Nanayakkara, Benjamin Stappers +25
Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are enigmatic millisecond-duration signals which encode otherwise unattainable information on the plasma which permeates our Universe, providing insights i…
Localisation and host galaxy identification of new Fast Radio Bursts with MeerKAT
Inés Pastor-Marazuela, Alexa C. Gordon, Ben Stappers +18
Accurately localising fast radio bursts (FRBs) is essential for understanding their birth environments and for their use as cosmological probes. Recent advances in radio interferom…
A Search for Low-frequency Radio Pulses from Long Gamma-ray Bursts with the Murchison Widefield Array
Fan Xu, G. E. Anderson, Jun Tian +10
It has been proposed that coherent radio emission could be emitted during or shortly following a gamma-ray burst (GRB). Here we present a low-frequency ( MHz) search for r…
Discovery of 26 new Galactic radio transients by MeerTRAP
James Dennis Turner, Ben W. Stappers, Jun Tian +10
Radio searches for single pulses provide the opportunity to discover one-off events, fast transients and some pulsars that might otherwise be missed by conventional periodicity sea…
